The Third Chakra: how to unlock the Manipura

If you have followed our blog recently, you already know that we have discussed the list of the 7 different chakras regulating our body, after having first introduced topics such as trataka medidation that we recommend you.

We have already presented the first two chakras : Sacral Chakra and Root Chakra. Today, as you can guess, we will talk about the third one, the Solar Plexus Chakra, also called Manipura in Sanskrit.

After having read this article, we’re pretty sure you will look forward to discovering the four last Chakras : the Heart Chakra (Anahata), the Throat Chakra (Visshudha), the Third eye Chakra (Anja) and the Crown chakra (Sahasrara).

The meaning of the 3rd chakra

The 3rd of the 7 chakras has a specific meaning. Indeed, it represents all the mental powers we have. This chakra is in fact a crossroads or even an engine connected to other chakras and which gives them more or less energy depending on the harmony of your body. It is important for self-esteem, willpower, but also everything related to social relationships.

The characteristics of the solar plexus chakra

The solar plexus chakra is represented in different ways. First, like a 10 yellow petals lotus, which is located slightly above the navel, at the level of the plexus, hence its name. If the element that best represents the second chakra happens to be water, for this one it is fire. Also the sight and the iron are symbols for Manipura and this since the dawn of time.

Where is solar plexus chakra located?

As we already told you before, solar plexus chakra is located just above the navel. Between 6 and 9 centimetres precisely, it all depends on your morphology.

The benefits of a balanced third chakra

Having that part of you in harmony is a real source of well-being. First of all, you will have overwhelming and meaningful self-confidence which over the time will become your hallmark. You will be a sociable, cheerful person who is always pleasant to spend time with. You will no longer think of the looks of people because you will be at peace with yourself. You will focus on much more concrete goals and you will just want to move forward in life taking only the essentials with you to be happy.

The consequences of an unbalanced Manipura

However this state of balance and self-confidence is not easy to achieve. For most people, it will need to be worked on to avoid a lot of inconvenience. These inconveniences can be many and varied, depending on the kind of imbalance you have and its extent. For example, if you suffer from symptoms like egocentricity or excessive authority, it means this chakra is too open.

You can also become proud and angry by being obsessed with work. If you are in this situation, it’s possible you are hyperactive and even disrespectful. Unfortunately these bad psychological habits can have incidence on your body and you could be suffering from cirrhosis for example.

The other possible imbalance is that your Manipura is on the contrary too closed. You will then have a strong withdrawal into yourself with the inability to cancel your emotions. You will then sink into a permanent laxity where you will no longer be able to set goals for yourself and you will no longer have ambitions. Life will then seem very complicated and you will have no confidence in yourself to face the different situations.

Your solution will be to shut yourself up which will allow you to avoid judgments but at the same time not to fully be satisfied. Again it’s possible that this has more or less serious consequences on your body such as ulcers because of all these emotions contained.
